About Christa
Christa Conry trained on two islands and then in a city known for its steep hills. She earned a B.A. in history from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2009. Six years later she received her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. Those steps shaped the path she took into housing law.
Her early practical experience came while she was still in school. In 2014 she worked as a legal intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. That same year she served as a law clerk at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP, handling research and courtroom preparation. The following year she joined Tobener Ravenscroft as an associate lawyer, moving from clerkship to client representation.
Conry’s work has been concentrated at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP across the Bay Area. She has held roles in the firm’s San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose offices. The firm’s tenant practice is prominent in each location and her caseload has reflected that concentration. She appears in state and municipal housing matters on behalf of renters facing eviction and related disputes.
Her courtroom and client work includes drafting pleadings, negotiating on behalf of tenants, and representing clients in hearings. She has experience with preventive measures as well as contested proceedings. Colleagues describe her as steady in court and thorough in preparation. She favors clear, plain-language explanations when advising clients unfamiliar with legal procedures.
Conry’s background in history contributes to an analytic approach to casework. She traces factual threads and builds timelines that help clarify disputed accounts. That method informs both settlement talks and trial preparation. She also draws on her federal internship experience when cases raise employment-law or discrimination issues alongside housing claims.
Outside the office she maintains professional memberships tied to her practice area. She participates in firm outreach and in community events aimed at informing renters of their rights. She has worked on matters across the Bay Area that require attention to local ordinances as well as state law.
As of 2026 she remains at Tobener Ravenscroft LLP, working from the firm’s offices in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose. Her current practice centers on tenant representation, eviction defense and housing-related disputes.
