About Chris
Chris Vogt earned his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. He pursued legal training in Ohio and built his practice within the state. His education provided the foundation for work in courtroom procedure, evidence assessment and roadside enforcement matters.
After law school Vogt joined Malek Law Office LLC. He has practiced in Ohio under that firm name and handled matters that arise from state jurisdiction. His practice has placed him at the intersection of criminal law and traffic enforcement, where courtroom work and technical roadside procedures often overlap.
Vogt completed several specialized certifications issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Those include the DWI Detection & Standardized Field Sobriety Testing program and the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course. He also finished the DWI Detection & SFST Instructor Development Course. The instructor development credential qualifies him to teach standardized field sobriety testing protocols to other practitioners and officers.
Those training credentials inform how Vogt examines the facts of a stop and subsequent testing. He reviews officer reports, video evidence and test administration against nationally recognized procedures. He routinely applies the technical training from NHTSA courses to questions about whether field tests were administered properly and whether evidentiary procedures complied with expected standards.
Vogt maintains current professional memberships. He participates in continuing education that keeps him up to date on changes in roadside testing methodology and related case law. That ongoing engagement reflects the technical nature of much of his work, where small differences in procedure can change the course of a case.
In practice he represents clients in matters arising from driving under the influence and related traffic offenses in Ohio. He draws on classroom instruction, instructor-level training and courtroom experience when preparing defenses and advising clients. He practices at Malek Law Office LLC and concentrates his work on DWI and traffic matters in Ohio.
