About Chris
Chris Eskew earned a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2006. He completed his formal legal education in Indianapolis and moved quickly into public service. Those early years shaped his approach to courtroom work and case management.
After law school, Eskew joined the Marion County Public Defender Agency as a lawyer in 2006. He spent his first years practicing in a public defender’s office, where he worked on a steady docket of contested matters. That environment required rapid case assessment, frequent court appearances, and collaboration with investigators and staff. The role also offered sustained exposure to criminal procedure and trial practice in Indiana courts.
The practical experience at the public defender agency translated into hands-on courtroom skills. Eskew handled client interviews, drafted motions, and participated in hearings. He gained experience conducting legal research under tight deadlines and preparing cases for trial. Working in a public agency also meant balancing heavy caseloads while trying to preserve clients’ procedural rights and access to counsel.
At some point after his tenure at the public defender office, Eskew transitioned to private practice and began operating under the name Eskew Law LLC. The firm is based in Indiana and reflects a move to manage cases outside the public sector. In private practice he applies the litigation experience developed earlier in his career to individual client matters. Running a small firm has added administrative and client-development responsibilities to his repertoire.
Eskew remains licensed to practice in Indiana and has spent his career working within the state’s legal system. His background combines courtroom exposure from public defense with the responsibilities of private practice. He now leads Eskew Law LLC and represents clients in matters brought in Indiana state courts.
