About Cheyenne
Cheyenne Whitfield built her legal foundation in classrooms and in courtrooms. She earned a B.A. in political science and history from the State University of New York at Albany in 2010 and completed her J.D. at Ave Maria School of Law in 2013. Those years set the tone for a career that has moved between public service and private practice.
Her early work was hands-on. In 2008 she served as a prosecution case manager. By 2011 she was working on home foreclosure matters for Legal Aid Service of Collier County. The next year brought a string of internships: office placements in Nassau County, at The Glassman Law Group, the Collier County Office of the Magistrates, and as a certified legal intern for the Office of the State Attorney in Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit. She also spent time in the appellate division of the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel for the 2nd District during 2013.
That accumulation of public-sector experience fed into short-term contract work and, later, firm work. In 2015 she served as a contract lawyer for Tower Legal Solutions. The following year she launched her own practice, founding Whitfield Law, LLC in 2016. Creating a solo firm gave her the chance to shape the caseload and manage matters from intake through disposition.
Her admissions list includes Florida and the bankruptcy court for the Middle District of Florida. Those credentials reflect the mix of matters she has handled over time: criminal court assignments, foreclosure and consumer issues, and matters that touch bankruptcy practice. Cases have come from both private clients and referrals originating in the public work she did earlier in her career.
Collegial work has been part of her professional life. She joined the Hillsborough Bar Association in 2017 and remains a member. She also holds an additional professional membership that dates back to 2015.
Clients and colleagues describe a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with the daily demands of running a small firm. She has worked across several municipal and county offices and has taken contracting roles in the private sector. That mix gives her practical familiarity with court procedures and with client intake and case management.
Today she leads Whitfield Law, LLC and handles matters in state and federal bankruptcy-related venues and other forums in Florida. Her current practice focuses on bankruptcy and related civil matters.
