About Charles R.
Charles R. Frazier built a steady climb through business, government and the law. He holds a B.B.A. in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance from Austin Peay State University and earned a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He later completed a Master of Taxation at Florida Atlantic University and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
His early professional life began in uniform. He served as a supply specialist in the U.S. Army, an experience that preceded work as a senior account agent for Brikim & Associates. He moved into federal tax work as an Internal Revenue Agent. That period provided hands-on exposure to audits, collection and the procedural aspects of tax administration.
Law school included practical training as a student lawyer. After earning his J.D., he opened his own practice and has served as managing lawyer at the Law Offices of Charles R. Frazier since 2009. Over the years he has expanded his professional profile through continuing education and teaching. In 2024 he lectured for the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, sharing practical tax and planning insights with practitioners and nonlawyers alike.
Frazier holds two planning credentials from the National Association of Estate Planning Councils: Board-Certified Estate Planning Law Specialist and Accredited Estate Planner. He has also been active in bar and civic organizations. His memberships include the Tennessee Bar Association, where he has chaired the Estate Planning and Probate Section and served as a Middle Tennessee delegate, the American Bar Association, the Napier Looby Bar Association, and state bars in Texas and Michigan. He is listed as a member of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and participates in local chambers and county bar associations.
He is admitted in multiple jurisdictions and to several courts, including the states of Tennessee, Texas and Michigan, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the Tennessee Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect a practice that blends estate planning, probate work and tax matters. Clients encounter him in transactional planning, in filings before tax authorities, and in probate or estate administration matters.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and steady in handling complex tax and planning problems. He divides his time between client work and professional service, maintaining an active role in local and state bar governance. His current practice concentrates on estate planning and tax law.
