About Charles G. Hemming

Charles G. Hemming III brought his legal training from Western State University College of Law into a practice that spans three very different state systems. He earned his law degree there and then built a multi-jurisdictional license set that includes Alaska, Texas and California. The combination of that education and those admissions shapes how he approaches client matters today.

Early in his career Hemming navigated the practical demands of representing clients across state lines. He has maintained active licenses in each of the three states, which allows him to file matters and advise clients where state-specific rules matter. That setup has required attention to procedural detail and to the varying expectations of courts and regulators in distant jurisdictions.

Over time Hemming has worked in settings that required both courtroom experience and transactional judgment. He has handled matters that called for written advocacy as well as ones that demanded negotiation and client counseling. He tends to take on assignments that require an attorney to be comfortable operating under different bodies of state law and to coordinate across offices or counsel teams.

Hemming’s practice reflects the practical realities of cross-state representation. He has advised individuals and organizations on issues that arise when business, personal and regulatory matters overlap state borders. He also has assisted clients who needed filing or representation in one state while their principal operations or residence were in another. Those kinds of engagements test both procedural familiarity and the ability to set priorities under time pressure.

Colleagues describe him as someone who pays attention to the mechanics of a case. He approaches each file by identifying the immediate procedural tasks first, then by mapping the longer-term strategic options. That sequence helps in matters where early decisions — choice of forum, timing of filings, preservation of rights — determine later possibilities.

He practices through Hemming, P.C., where he continues to represent clients in matters that involve Alaska, Texas and California law. He currently practices at Hemming, P.C., representing clients in matters across Alaska, Texas and California.
