About Charles

Charles Blazer moved from circuits to courtrooms. He began his professional path in electrical engineering and later trained as a lawyer. Those two strands shape the work he does today.

He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Boston University in 2001 after beginning his undergraduate studies in 1997. He then attended the University of New Hampshire School of Law, graduating with a J.D. in 2007. The combination of a technical undergraduate degree and a law degree informed his early career choices and the kinds of matters he would handle.

Blazer launched his legal career at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in 2007. He spent the following year clerking for the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. By 2011 he was working at Perkins Coie LLP. He joined the San Diego IP Law Group LLP as a partner in 2018, then moved to Insigne LLP as a partner in 2019. In 2021 he founded Blazer Legal.

Over the years Blazer has worked in law firms known for intellectual property work. His background places him at the intersection of technology and law. He advises clients on patent matters, including prosecution and disputes. He handles counseling for technology companies and works on litigation strategies when conflicts escalate to the courtroom. His technical training in electrical engineering underpins patent analysis and claim construction tasks.

In 2020 he served as an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. In the classroom he brought practical experience to students studying IP subjects. Teaching complemented his firm work and allowed him to break down complex legal and technical ideas for law students.

Blazer is admitted to practice in California and has held membership there since 2012. His career moves show a trajectory from large, established firms to smaller, specialized practices and finally to his own firm. That path reflects a shift toward running a practice that can combine hands-on client work with case management tailored to technology clients.

He founded Blazer Legal in 2021 and operates the firm from its listed office. Today he maintains an active California practice handling patent prosecution, patent-related litigation, and counseling for technology-focused clients.
