About Charles B.
Charles B. Roberts studied law at The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law and later attended Harvard Law School. Those years provided an early mix of academic rigor and practical training. He moved into the legal profession at a time when clerking and government service were common stepping stones to private practice.
His first notable position came in 1978, when he served as law clerk to the Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio. The clerkship placed him at the center of state appellate work and exposed him to complex legal reasoning early in his career. In 1980 he joined the U.S. Government Accountability Office as a GS-14 Lawyer Advisor, a role that combined legal analysis with policy and oversight responsibilities.
In 1986 Roberts returned to private practice as the founding partner and senior lawyer of Charles B. Roberts & Associates, PC. He built a practice that handled a range of civil matters and advised clients on litigation strategy. Decades in private practice followed, interrupted only by periods of public service and advisory work that broadened his perspective on litigation and regulatory issues.
In 2014 he established Charles B. Roberts, Personal Injury Lawyer, PC. That move formalized a practice centered on injury claims and civil recovery. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, the District of Columbia and Virginia, which allows him to represent clients across those jurisdictions. His career path includes experience inside courts, in federal oversight, and in the private bar, giving him a varied background compared with many peers.
Colleagues describe Roberts as a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with institutional knowledge from government work. He has handled matters arising from multiple legal environments and has maintained a long-running private practice presence. As of 2026 he practices at Charles B. Roberts, Personal Injury Lawyer, PC and represents clients in personal injury matters across Ohio, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
