About Charles
Charles Allen built his legal foundation at the University of Virginia. He earned a B.A. there and returned to receive his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1982. Those years shaped a lawyer comfortable in the library and the courtroom.
He joined Allen, Allen, Allen, & Allen, P.C. in 1983 as a partner and trial lawyer. That move came a year after law school and set the direction of a career rooted in litigation. Over decades at the firm he remained in a trial role, arguing cases, preparing witnesses, and managing complex pretrial work.
Allen’s practice rests on trial skills. He has spent his career trying cases and preparing them for trial rather than in transactional work. Colleagues describe him as steady under pressure and detail-oriented in preparation. He favors clear themes in the courtroom and methodical case development outside it.
Education and courtroom experience inform his approach to advocacy. He uses trial procedure, evidence, and courtroom presentation as tools to press legal claims or defend clients. That practical orientation extends to mentorship of junior lawyers at his firm, where he has worked for many years.
Beyond his work at the firm, Allen participates in professional organizations. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Richmond Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. Those memberships have provided opportunities to stay current on state and national developments in trial practice and litigation strategy.
For nearly four decades he has practiced in Virginia. The steady arc of his career is one of continued trial practice and firm partnership. He currently practices trial litigation at Allen, Allen, Allen, & Allen, P.C., handling litigation in Virginia courts.
