About Chad
Chad Murray began his legal path in upstate New York and carried it into private practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Syracuse University in 2006. He then completed his legal studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo, receiving a J.D. in 2009.
His early years in law were spent in clerk and associate roles that exposed him to courtroom procedure and client work. In 2006 he worked as a law clerk at Walsh, Roberts & Grace. After law school he returned to practical training at William Mattar Law Office as a law clerk and associate in 2009. In 2010 he served as a staff lawyer with the Special Funds Conservation Committee, a role that involved administrative and legal responsibilities tied to fund oversight.
Murray moved into firm practice in 2011 as an associate lawyer at Bouvier Partnership, LLP. That position added transactional and litigation experience and increased his exposure to case management and client advocacy. In 2014 he opened his own firm, Chad Murray Law, and has run the practice since then. Taking the step to start a firm allowed him to direct the handling of cases and to manage the business side of a small practice.
He is licensed to practice in both New York and Illinois. His professional memberships include the Illinois State Bar, where his membership dates to 2016, and another bar membership that began in 2010. Over the years he has appeared in state courts and worked on matters that required coordination across jurisdictions.
Colleagues and clients describe Murray as someone who prefers clear, practical solutions and straightforward counsel. His background combines time in larger offices and committee work with the responsibilities of running a solo firm. That mix has shaped how he handles intake, prepares matters for motion practice or trial, and interacts with opposing counsel and court personnel.
At Chad Murray Law he oversees case strategy, client communications, and courtroom work when necessary. He balances litigation duties with the administrative needs of a small firm. His current practice concentrates on representing individuals and businesses in civil matters in Illinois and New York.
