About Catherine
Catherine Loeffler earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2011 after completing a double major in political science and English at Allegheny College in 2008. Her academic record combined coursework in writing and analysis with practical training in trial skills and legal research. That mix set the tone for a career built around courtroom work and client counseling.
She began practicing law in 2011 at The McDonald Group, taking on early litigation assignments that tested her drafting and motion practice. In 2013 she joined Dell Moser Lane & Loughney, where she expanded her trial preparation responsibilities. A move to Rawle & Henderson followed in 2014, and in 2015 she became part of Houston Harbaugh. Each firm provided different caseloads and opposing counsel, sharpening her approach to case management and depositions.
Loeffler is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and she is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. She holds a Notary Public certification through the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries. Those credentials have allowed her to handle matters that range from routine filings to appeals-level work in multiple jurisdictions.
Outside the office she maintains memberships that keep her connected to trial and defense communities. She is a current member of the Defense Research Institute and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. She belongs to the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Butler County Bar Association, and participates in the American Inns of Court—Amy Reynolds Hay Chapter. She is active in Pittsburgh Young Professionals as well.
Her work also reaches the classroom. Loeffler serves as an adjunct professor at Butler County Community College, teaching courses that introduce students to legal principles and courtroom procedure. The role lets her step back from day-to-day litigation and evaluate how law is explained to newcomers. It also informs her courtroom teaching when she supervises junior associates.
Colleagues describe her as methodical and prepared. She spends significant time on discovery planning, witness preparation, and motion practice, and she handles client communications directly. Her case files tend to show thorough timelines and organized exhibits.
Loeffler practices at Houston Harbaugh, P.C., where her practice centers on litigation in state and federal courts.
