About Carole Topol

Carole Topol Orland is a founding member and partner at Broder Orland Murray & DeMattie LLC, a leading family law firm located in Westport, Connecticut. With over 40 years of legal experience, she has established herself as a prominent figure in family and matrimonial law. Her practice encompasses complex cases involving divorce, alimony, child support, custody, and asset division. Throughout her career, Ms. Orland has represented clients, including high-net-worth individuals in Fairfield County and across Connecticut. A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Ms. Orland began her legal journey as an Assistant District Attorney. In this role, she prosecuted high-profile felony cases, gaining invaluable courtroom experience.

After her tenure as a prosecutor, she joined the law firm Wolfson Keenan Cotton and Meagher. There, her focus shifted to divorce, matrimonial, family, and criminal matters. Notably, she successfully handled the first surrogacy case decided by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, which resulted in securing custody for the child's father—a landmark decision that set a precedent in family law. In 2005, Ms. Orland co-founded Broder Orland Murray & DeMattie LLC, which has grown to become one of Connecticut's largest family law firms. The firm expanded its reach to Greenwich in 2017, responding to increasing client demand for specialized family law services. Ms. Orland is admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York.
