About Carlos

Carlos Otero is a Florida-licensed attorney who brought an uncommon academic mixture into law school. He holds a J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, awarded in 2015, and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida: a B.S. in Finance (2008) and a B.S. in Management Information Systems (2010). His undergraduate studies preceded three years of legal education that culminated in his bar admission in 2015.

His legal career began in a clerical capacity. In 2014 he worked as a law clerk at Melendez & Carmona P.A., where he performed research and supported case preparation. That role led directly to an associate position at Carmona Law, P.A. in 2015. He moved through a sequence of associate posts over the next several years, joining Sanchez Law Group, P.A. in 2017 and then the Law Office of Erin Morse in 2018.

Those years in small and mid-sized firms exposed him to the everyday work of a practicing lawyer: client interviews, drafting pleadings, and managing deadlines. He handled filings and routine court procedures and supported trial preparation. The record of positions shows steady practice in Florida’s legal community rather than a single, long-term office.

Otero is a member of the Florida State Bar, admitted in 2015, and he holds membership in The George C. Young American Inn of Court since 2018. His active bar status and involvement in a local Inn of Court indicate ongoing participation in the professional and collegial life of the bench and bar.

His academic background in finance and information systems informs his approach to legal problems. He combines numerical and technical literacy with legal training. That combination has been practical in managing case files, reviewing transactional materials, and communicating complex concepts to clients.

He lives and works in Florida and has practiced in several firms around the region. He currently practices law in Florida, representing individuals and businesses in matters handled through his office.
