About Carlos
Carlos Otero is a Florida-licensed attorney who brought an uncommon academic mixture into law school. He holds a J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, awarded in 2015, and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida: a B.S. in Finance (2008) and a B.S. in Management Information Systems (2010). His undergraduate studies preceded three years of legal education that culminated in his bar admission in 2015.
His legal career began in a clerical capacity. In 2014 he worked as a law clerk at Melendez & Carmona P.A., where he performed research and supported case preparation. That role led directly to an associate position at Carmona Law, P.A. in 2015. He moved through a sequence of associate posts over the next several years, joining Sanchez Law Group, P.A. in 2017 and then the Law Office of Erin Morse in 2018.
Those years in small and mid-sized firms exposed him to the everyday work of a practicing lawyer: client interviews, drafting pleadings, and managing deadlines.
