About Carlos N.
Carlos N. Martinez built his legal foundation through a mix of accounting training and formal legal study. He earned a B.S. in accounting and finance from the University of Denver in 2005 and completed his J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2010. Those academic milestones preceded his admission to the New Mexico bar in 2010, where he remains an active member.
He began his practice as an associate, first at Rose L. Brand and Associates and later at Couture Law. Those early years gave him exposure to courtroom work and client counseling. He moved into practice management at Albuquerque Business Law, PC, where he oversaw a range of transactional matters and the coordination of day-to-day legal operations.
Martinez shifted toward firm leadership after that. He formed and ran Family Law of New Mexico, LLC as owner and manager, handling domestic relations matters and building a practice that balanced negotiation and litigation. His management experience continued to grow. He is now managing partner and co-owner of Legal Solutions Of New Mexico, LLC, a role that combines casework, client intake, and business oversight.
Outside the office he has been active in shaping local practice areas. In 2018 he founded the New Mexico Bar Cannabis Law Section and serves as its chair. He is a member of the NM Cannabis Chamber of Commerce and the National Cannabis Bar Association, both since 2018. He also joined the New Mexico Collaborative Divorce Group in 2018, reflecting his ongoing work in family law. From 2018 to 2021 he served on the board of the New Mexico Bar Family Law Section and acted as its budget officer. Since 2017 he has served on the Presbyterian Internal Review Board.
Martinez’s work spans family law, business law, and cannabis regulatory matters. He combines courtroom experience from his associate years with managerial roles at multiple firms. He handles dispute resolution, regulatory compliance questions, and transactional needs for small businesses and individuals. He currently practices at Legal Solutions Of New Mexico, LLC, where he handles family law, cannabis regulatory matters and business law issues.
