About Carlos
Carlos Gracia completed his law degree at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2022 after a nontraditional path to the bar. He earned a Master of Science in Sports Management from Texas A&M University, College Station in 2013 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2012 from Texas A&M University - Texas A&M International University. The sequence of degrees reflects a switch from business and sports management into law over the course of a decade.
He worked in public education early in his career. In 2014 he served as a bilingual teacher in the Dallas Independent School District. That role gave him classroom experience and firsthand practice communicating across language lines. A few years later he shifted to legal work. In 2020 he joined the Nueces County District Lawyer's Office as a legal intern. The following year he balanced multiple roles: student lawyer in the Family Law & Housing Clinic at Texas Tech Law, a law clerk position at Walsh, Gallegos, Trevino, Kyle & Robinson P.C., and a law clerk stint at Goranson Bain Ausley.
The clinic work and his clerkships exposed him to courtroom procedure, client interviewing and case preparation. In the Family Law & Housing Clinic he handled matters that connected family law issues to housing concerns. His time in county government gave him experience with public-office processes and local court calendars. At the two firms he worked on drafting, discovery and motion practice under the supervision of experienced litigators.
In 2023 he transitioned to an attorney role at Goranson Bain Ausley, where his title is Family Law Lawyer. The change marked a move from support and clinic roles to a practicing position in family law. His bilingual background and prior teaching experience inform how he communicates with clients and prepares witnesses. Colleagues and supervisors from his clerkships recommended him for roles that required careful file management and clear courtroom-ready documents.
He is admitted to practice in Texas. At Goranson Bain Ausley he represents clients in family law matters, drawing on clinic experience and several years of clerkship work to manage cases through pleadings, temporary hearings and settlement efforts.
He practices family law at Goranson Bain Ausley and handles family law matters in Texas.
