Carla Lea Gannon is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California and North Carolina. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Gannon is a partner at Dilworth & Barrese, LLP, a law firm located in Melville, New York. She has been practicing law for over 22 years, serving clients in both California and North Carolina.

Ms. Gannon earned her Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco in 2002. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at California State University, Long Beach, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. During law school, she focused on Intellectual Property Law and worked as a clerk on several high-stakes pharmaceutical patent litigation cases.

Ms. Gannon concentrates her practice in the area of Intellectual Property Law, with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution. She has substantial experience in designing and managing IP portfolios, providing opinion work, strategic prosecution, enforcement, and drafting and negotiating various IP agreements and settlements. Her practice encompasses a breadth of technologies, including alternative energy, bioremediation, medical devices and therapeutics, sports and recreational equipment, and infrastructure. She also counsels clients on trademark matters, including trademark prosecution and enforcement.

Throughout her career, Ms. Gannon has handled cases in various courts, including the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the California State Bar, and the North Carolina State Bar. She has also appeared before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Prior to joining Dilworth & Barrese, LLP, she operated her own firm, Carla Gannon Law, serving clients in Coastal Carolina and the West Coast.

Ms. Gannon is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Brunswick County Bar Association, the National Association of Patent Practitioners, the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, and the Monterey County Bar Association. She has given presentations on IP law to attorneys, small business groups, and companies. Ms. Gannon is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
