Mr. House earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1976. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Columbia University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973. During his time at Columbia Law School, he was involved in various academic and extracurricular activities, laying the foundation for his future legal career.
Mr. House concentrates his practice in the areas of employment law, appellate law, and municipal law. He represents clients in matters involving employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and other employment-related issues. His appellate practice includes handling civil and federal appeals, while his municipal law practice involves advising and representing local government entities on various legal matters. Throughout his career, Mr. House has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a prominent New York-based law firm, from 1976 to 1980. He then served as Deputy Commissioner at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs from 1980 to 1982. Following that, he was a partner at Ratner, House & Murch from 1982 to 1984. From 1984 to 1988, he served as an Assistant Professor at Western State University College of Law, teaching courses in Civil Procedure and Evidence.
Mr. House is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), where he has held the position of Associate since 2007. He has been recognized for his contributions to the legal field, including being selected to Super Lawyers for 2021 to 2025. He is also a member of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. Mr. House is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
