About C. Wes
C. Wes Pittman earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida, completing a B.S. in 1969 and a J.D. in 1976. He left law school at a time when the legal profession in Florida was expanding rapidly. The two University of Florida degrees anchor a long career in the state’s courts and federal tribunals.
After graduating in 1976 he entered practice in Florida and built a career that has spanned state and federal forums. He is admitted to the Florida bar and also holds admissions to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Fifth Circuit, along with the U.S. District Courts that sit in Florida. Over the years he has maintained active memberships in professional groups that reflect his courtroom work, including the Florida State Bar and several national trial lawyer organizations.
Memberships have been a steady part of his professional life. He belongs to the American Association for Justice, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the American Society of Law and Medicine. Those affiliations point to sustained involvement in trial practice and to an interest in the intersection of medical issues and the law. He has taken part in professional meetings and continuing education programs offered by these groups.
His practice is based at The Pittman Firm, P.A. There he handles matters that require litigation experience in both state and federal courts. His courtroom experience is complemented by the practical demands of managing case strategy, examining expert testimony, and preparing for jury trials. Colleagues and opposing counsel have noted his familiarity with procedural and evidentiary rules in federal and state venues.
Across decades of practice he has balanced courtroom work with the responsibilities of running a law office. He has navigated changing procedural rules and evolving medical-legal standards while maintaining an active caseload. That continuity has kept him engaged in trials and dispute resolution at multiple levels of the judiciary.
He currently practices at The Pittman Firm, P.A., continues his memberships in the Florida State Bar and national trial organizations, and maintains admissions in the Florida state courts, the Eleventh and Fifth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts of Florida. His current practice focuses on litigation in state and federal courts, including matters that involve medical-legal issues.
