About Burke

Burke Batten graduated from Bucknell University in 2012 and earned his J.D. from Elon University School of Law in 2015. His academic path took him from a liberal arts undergraduate education to three years of law school in North Carolina, culminating in the degree that launched his legal career.

He began practicing law in 2015 when he joined Batten & Batten, LLC. Since then he has worked at that firm, building practical courtroom and client experience. Early in his career he secured memberships that allow him to appear in both state and federal forums. Those professional affiliations came quickly and have continued.

Batten is licensed to practice in Georgia and holds membership in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He is also a member of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit Bar Association, a group he joined in 2016 and remains active with. He joined the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association in 2015 and maintains that membership as well. These associations connect him to colleagues across the state and region and provide regular opportunities for continuing legal education and case-related discussion.

Colleagues describe Batten as methodical in his preparation. He approaches hearings and filings with attention to procedural detail. That approach is suited to the mix of matters that come through a regional law firm, where cases often move between negotiation, motion practice and trial preparation. He has handled filings and appearances in state court and in the federal district where he holds admission.

Outside the courtroom he participates in bar activities that keep him engaged with the legal community in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit. He has remained on the rolls of the organizations he joined at the start of his career, a sign of steady professional involvement rather than sporadic participation.

Batten keeps his practice anchored at Batten & Batten, LLC. He appears in matters brought in Georgia courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, and he continues to develop his practice through case work and bar association involvement. He currently practices at Batten & Batten, LLC, representing clients in matters brought in Georgia and in the Southern District of Georgia.
