Bryan Jeffrey Schwartz is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Schwartz is the principal attorney at Bryan Schwartz Law, P.C., a law firm located in Oakland, California. He has been practicing law for over twenty-five years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Mr. Schwartz earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2000. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and English in 1994. During his time at Berkeley Law, he was actively involved in various student organizations and developed a strong foundation in civil rights and employment law.
Mr. Schwartz concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment law, civil rights, whistleblower protection, and wage and hour law. He represents individuals and groups in matters involving workplace discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage disputes, and other employment-related issues. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schwartz has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm in 2009, he served as the managing lawyer of the San Francisco office of Nichols Kaster, LLP, and clerked for the late Hon. Franklin Van Antwerpen in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Schwartz is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), and the District of Columbia Bar. He has served on the boards of the California Employment Lawyers Association, Legal Aid at Work, and the Foundation for Advocacy Inclusion and Resources (FAIR). He is also a past chair of the State Bar of California’s Labor and Employment Law Section. Mr. Schwartz is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the Bay Area effectively.
