About Bryan
Bryan Hawkins began his academic path at The Ohio State University, where he completed a B.A. in history in 2008. He moved on to Capital University Law School and earned his J.D. in 2011. Those years in school gave him a foundation in legal research and courtroom procedure and set the stage for a career centered on criminal law.
After law school he entered practice in Ohio and has built experience handling criminal matters. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and has been active in the local legal community. In 2018 he joined Dominy Law Office, LLC, where he provides courtroom representation and counsel to people facing criminal charges. His work there has involved arraignments, pretrial litigation, plea negotiations and trial work for clients across a range of misdemeanors and felonies.
Hawkins maintains ties to several professional organizations that reflect his practice interests. He holds membership in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and of the National College for DUI Defense. At the state level he participates in the Ohio Bar Association and the Columbus and Delaware County bar groups. He serves on the board of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a role that adds an administrative and policy dimension to his practice life.
Colleagues describe Hawkins as an attorney who spends much of his time in court, preparing motions and arguing hearings. He pays attention to evidentiary details and to the procedural steps that can affect a case early on. He also handles cases that involve impaired driving allegations, a common component of criminal defense work in the region. Those matters often require both technical investigation and negotiation with prosecutors.
Outside the courtroom, Hawkins keeps up with continuing legal education and the professional networks that criminal defense practice demands. The organizations he belongs to provide training and updates on changes in criminal statutes, case law and forensic techniques. He draws on those resources to inform trial strategy and client counseling.
He practices from Dominy Law Office, LLC in Ohio, where he represents clients in criminal defense and DUI cases.
