Bryan E. Mortlock is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Mortlock is the founder of Mortlock Law Group, a law firm located in Carlsbad, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout San Diego County.
Mr. Mortlock earned his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, graduating in 2005. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs in 2002. During his time at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, he was awarded the Trustee’s Scholarship and participated in the school's Mock Trial program.
Mr. Mortlock concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, products liability, and insurance claims. He represents individuals in matters involving car accidents, bicycle injuries, brain injuries, burn injuries, spinal cord injuries, toxic mold exposure, and wrongful death cases. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mortlock has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a boutique personal injury firm in Carlsbad for over seven years.
Mr. Mortlock is an active member of the California State Bar and the San Diego County Bar Association. He also holds membership in the American Bar Association. In 2018, he was recognized as a Rising Star by his peers, acknowledging him as one of the top under-40 personal injury attorneys in San Diego. Mr. Mortlock is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of San Diego County effectively.
