Bruce David Abel is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1982. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Abel is the managing attorney at Abel Law Offices, a firm located in Palm Desert, California. He has been practicing law for over 43 years, serving clients throughout the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas.
Mr. Abel earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School in 1982. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1970. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing from California State University, San Francisco State University, obtained in 1973. During his time at Southwestern Law School, he was recognized on the Dean's List and received certificates for outstanding academic achievement in Intellectual Property and Insurance Law.
Mr. Abel concentrates his practice in the areas of business law, employment law, real estate law, construction law, arbitration and mediation, and appeals and appellate work. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving business contracts, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, real estate transactions, construction defects, and civil appeals. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Abel has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Riverside, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years. In 2015, he was appointed as an arbitrator, and in 2017, he became a faculty member, sharing his expertise with the next generation of legal professionals.
Mr. Abel is an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a prestigious organization dedicated to the preservation of the right to a jury trial in civil litigation. He is also a member of the Riverside County Bar Association, Desert Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Association. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence. Mr. Abel is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the Coachella Valley effectively.
