About Broocks Mack

Broocks Mack Wilson arrived at law after a straight path through two Texas universities. He earned a B.A. in economics and history from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011, after undergraduate study that began in 2007. He then enrolled at the University of Houston Law Center, completing his J.D. in 2016.

Wilson began his legal career shortly after law school. He was admitted to practice in Texas and later to the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern District of Texas. His early cases placed him in both state and federal settings, where he gained experience navigating court procedures and the paperwork of complex litigation and insolvency matters.

As an associate at Kean Miller LLP, Wilson has handled matters that touch on federal bankruptcy proceedings as well as state court disputes. The firm role has offered steady exposure to commercial creditors, restructuring scenarios and contested hearings. He has worked on briefs, discovery, and courtroom appearances that require close adherence to local rules and federal practice standards.

Colleagues describe Wilson as methodical in his preparation. He prefers careful factual development and clear legal writing. He tends to break issues down into discrete questions. That approach helps in courts that require precise presentation of facts and law. It also fits the rhythm of bankruptcy practice, where schedules, claims and disclosure statements demand attention to detail.

Wilson’s educational background in economics and history informs his legal work. Economic training helps when assessing creditor rights and the financial mechanics of workouts. Historical study contributes to digging into records and tracing the evolution of a dispute. Both disciplines encourage a mix of quantitative and narrative thinking, which shows in his courtroom filings and client memos.

Outside the courtroom he participates in bar-related activities that began in 2016 and continue today. He keeps current with practice developments through continuing legal education and the routine business of the district and bankruptcy courts in the Southern District of Texas. He has built practical familiarity with local judges’ procedures and filing practices.

He practices from Kean Miller LLP. His work centers on matters handled in Texas state courts and in the Southern District of Texas, including bankruptcy and related federal litigation.
