About Brody
Brody Reid began the path to law in classrooms and courtrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University in 2003 and completed his legal education at the University of Richmond School of Law in 2007. Those years set the groundwork for a steady legal career in Virginia.
After law school, Reid entered practice in the Commonwealth. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and has built experience handling a range of client matters. Over time he gravitated toward roles that required both careful legal analysis and practical problem solving. He learned to balance written advocacy with direct client counsel.
His career includes a period of private practice at ReidGoodwin, PLC. There he worked alongside colleagues on cases and transactions that required attention to detail and clear communication. The work demanded adapting legal concepts into actionable steps for clients. Reid developed an approach that places equal weight on preparation and on listening to what clients say they need.
Reid’s courtroom work complements his advisory role. He prepares pleadings and briefs, appears for hearings, and takes depositions when necessary. He also spends significant time drafting and negotiating documents that aim to resolve disputes before trial. That mix of litigation and negotiated outcomes appears in much of his day-to-day work.
Colleagues describe his courtroom manner as direct. He aims to be concise and practical when presenting arguments. Outside of hearings, he focuses on helping clients understand their options and on mapping out clear next steps. Clients who prefer a straightforward explanation of legal issues find that style useful.
Reid’s academic background remains part of his professional identity. The training he received at the University of Richmond School of Law informs the way he analyzes statutory language and precedent. Earlier, his undergraduate studies at James Madison University taught him to organize research and to present findings clearly.
He is based in Virginia and remains active in matters that arise across the state. His practice combines advocacy in court with behind-the-scenes negotiation and counsel. He currently practices law in Virginia at ReidGoodwin, PLC.
