About Britteny

Britteny Koenig is an attorney licensed in Wisconsin who combines courtroom training with years of local bar involvement. She earned her J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 2008, where she studied political science, sociology and gender studies.

At Marquette, Koenig completed a Litigation Certificate, a program that emphasizes trial skills, evidence and courtroom procedure. The training she received there complements her classroom work and provided practical experience in advocacy and case preparation. Her academic path reflects both an interest in law and an attention to the social issues that inform many criminal and civil matters in Wisconsin.

Koenig joined Petit & Dommershausen SC as an associate lawyer in 2015. Since then she has practiced in state courts and taken on litigation tasks that draw on her trial training. Her work includes preparing pleadings, managing discovery and representing clients at hearings. Colleagues describe her as exacting in document work and steady in court, able to move matters forward while attending to procedural detail.

An active member of the legal community, Koenig holds memberships in the State Bar of Wisconsin and several local bar organizations. She has been a member of the Outagamie County Bar Association since 2015 and belongs to the Brown County Bar Association and Brown County Young Lawyers Association since 2018. She also maintains membership in the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and participates in events and continuing education those groups offer.

Outside the office, Koenig has coached and judged for Wisconsin High School Mock Trial since 2015. That involvement keeps her connected to students and to the practical teaching of courtroom skills. It is also a regular forum for younger lawyers to practice instruction and develop mentoring relationships.

Her combination of formal litigation training, courtroom experience and bar association activity shapes the kind of work she does. Koenig handles criminal defense matters and related litigation in Wisconsin courts and takes on the procedural and advocacy responsibilities those cases require. She practices at Petit & Dommershausen SC and focuses her current work on criminal defense and litigation matters in Wisconsin state courts.
