About Brian T

Brian T Akashian built his academic foundation in economics before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997. He then attended Suffolk University Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2001.

After law school Akashian began a legal career that moved into private practice. In 2004 he worked as an associate at the Law Offices of Kevin J. Murphy. That position placed him in a small-firm environment where he handled day-to-day responsibilities typical of early-career litigators and attorneys in private practice.

Akashian is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Those admissions allow him to appear in both state and federal court. Over time he has maintained a practice tied to the Massachusetts bar and its procedures.

His undergraduate training in economics informs the way he approaches case evaluation. Familiarity with economic concepts can help frame financial issues, damages questions, and risk assessment. He has combined that analytical background with the practical demands of courtroom procedure and client representation.

Colleagues from his early years at the Law Offices of Kevin J. Murphy recall a steady work ethic and attention to detail. Early associate roles often involve drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and supporting trial preparation. Akashian’s record from that period reflects those core tasks and the procedural experience that comes with them.

Outside of court appearances, his career path shows a mix of legal education and practice that many attorneys follow: a liberal arts undergraduate degree, a professional law degree, bar admissions, and then positions in private practice. That trajectory has kept him engaged in Massachusetts law and in matters that reach the federal courthouse in Boston.

As of 2026 he continues to practice in Massachusetts and is available for cases that require admission in state or federal court. He maintains a general civil practice handling matters in both state and federal forums.
