About Brian
Brian Petersen began his legal career as a young assistant and built upward through a series of hands-on roles. He has moved from support positions into firm leadership, and his work has been concentrated in Arizona ever since his education concluded.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Arizona State University in 2009. He then completed a Juris Doctor at Arizona Summit Law School in 2011. Those years framed practical legal exposure that followed immediately after graduation.
Petersen's early experience began in 2007 as a legal assistant at Winsor & Marco, PLC. During law school he worked as a legal intern at Invictus Law, P.C., and later served as a law clerk at Winsor & Tirado, PLC in 2010. After receiving his degree he joined Rafael Tirado & Associates, PLC as a lawyer in 2013. That same year he and a colleague launched Edwards & Petersen, PLC, where he remains a founding partner. The sequence shows steady progression from support roles to firm leadership in a relatively short period.
His professional memberships reflect steady engagement in bar and legal organizations. He has been a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society since 2012. In 2015 he joined The American Society of Legal Advocates. He has served on the executive board of the Maricopa County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division beginning in 2016 and continuing to the present. Those roles have kept him connected to the local legal community and young attorney development.
Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney familiar with the daily operations of a law practice from multiple perspectives. Petersen's background includes direct client work, case preparation, and firm management. He has combined courtroom experience from his early lawyer role with administrative and organizational duties that come with running a firm.
The arc of his career has been practical and workplace-centered. He has remained in Arizona throughout, applying lessons learned in support roles to his work as a partner. Today he practices law in Arizona at Edwards & Petersen, PLC, where his work centers on representing clients through the firm's state-level practice.
