About Brian

Brian Monico built a courtroom résumé that began in the public sector and moved quickly into private practice. He earned a B.S. in Marketing from Fairfield University in 1999 and a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2004. Those academic years set the stage for a career centered on litigation and trial work.

He entered public service immediately after law school, taking a position in 2004 as an Assistant State s Lawyer at the Cook County State s Lawyer s Office. The role put him in the courtroom early. A year later he joined Propes & Kaveny LLC as an associate, where he continued to refine litigation skills on behalf of clients facing contested matters.

In 2010 he returned to his alma mater as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He taught Advanced Trial Advocacy with Courtroom Technology, a course that married practical trial techniques with emerging courtroom tools. That academic appointment reflected both classroom ability and hands-on familiarity with litigation technology.

Monico moved to Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny LLC in 2011 and spent the next several years handling complex cases and preparing matters for trial. In 2019 he became a partner at Hale & Monico. The partner role expanded his responsibilities. He oversees trial preparation and courtroom strategy and works with colleagues on case development and client counseling.

His practice experience spans government prosecution and private civil litigation, and it carries through to his teaching work. He has worked on matters that required detailed depositions, motion practice, and live trial advocacy. He also brings practical courtroom technology know-how to cases, a skill he taught to law students and now uses in litigation planning.

Monico remains active in the legal community. He holds memberships in the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and maintains an office at Hale & Monico.

He practices at Hale & Monico, where his work involves civil litigation and trial advocacy.
