About Brian
Brian Joslyn studied business at Franklin University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2006. He went on to law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2010. Those years set a practical foundation for a steady career in criminal defense and related areas of practice.
He began practicing law in the early 2000s. In 2002 he worked at the Law Offices of Joseph Landusky and Mark Herder. Later, in 2008, he spent time with the William C. Matthews Law Office. In 2009 he gained experience at the San Diego Public Defender’s Office. That mix of private and public defense work informed his courtroom approach and his handling of client matters.
In 2011 Joslyn established his own practice, operating under the Joslyn Law Office name and later also using Joslyn Criminal Defense Law Office. Since founding his firm he has taken on a range of criminal defense matters, representing clients in local and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and in both the U.S. Southern and U.S. Northern Districts of Ohio, allowing him to appear in state and federal proceedings.
Joslyn has pursued specialized training related to impaired-driving cases. He holds certification in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and certification in BAC DataMaster breath alcohol testing through National Patent Analytical Systems, Inc. Those credentials are often relevant in DUI and breath-test challenges, and they inform how he evaluates laboratory and field procedures.
His professional memberships cover a broad set of organizations tied to criminal defense, police accountability and consumer advocacy. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association and the Central Ohio Association for Justice. He also belongs to national groups such as the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Lawyers Guild. In addition, he holds membership in the NORML Legal Committee, the National Police Accountability Project and the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
Today he practices from offices that have operated under the Joslyn Law Office and Joslyn Criminal Defense Law Office names, representing clients in criminal, DUI and related matters across Ohio and in federal courts. He concentrates his practice on criminal defense, DUI and police accountability issues.
