About Brian
Brian Jordan graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Communications and earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 2004. He moved into public defense early in his career and spent time at the Dauphin County Public Defender’s Office beginning in 2007, where he handled an array of trial work and courtroom responsibilities. That early trial experience shaped the practical side of his legal work and helped define his professional path.
In 2012 he became a shareholder at Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C. The title reflects a change in role as much as in rank. He moved from a public defender’s caseload to private practice and to running a firm that handles criminal defense matters in Pennsylvania courts. The transition expanded his responsibilities as a lawyer and as a manager.
Jordan’s work has been acknowledged by peers and professional organizations. He has been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and was selected as one of the American Society of Legal Advocates’ Top 40 Under 40 in 2014 for criminal defense lawyers in the state. Those honors appear alongside an active record of bar association involvement.
He has served in several leadership positions within local and statewide bar groups. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and has held roles in the Monroe County Bar Association, including service as secretary beginning in 2018 and time as president of the association. At the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers he has been active on the board of directors since 2013 and served in leadership in the Young Lawyers Division.
Colleagues describe Jordan as a lawyer who prefers court work and direct client contact. His background in public defense informs how he approaches cases in private practice. He has tried cases at the trial level and appears regularly in state courts across Pennsylvania. His practice includes managing the demands of litigation while overseeing firm matters as a shareholder.
Outside courtrooms and bar meetings, Jordan’s record shows a blend of trial experience and professional service. He maintains memberships in professional organizations that reflect his practice area and his interest in bar leadership. He practices criminal defense law in Pennsylvania and manages his work from his role at Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C.
