About Brian

Brian Craig began his professional path in higher education and public service before turning to law. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1997 and earned his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2001. Early in his career he served as a legislative aide in the California State Legislature, an experience that introduced him to the practical side of policy and statutes.

After law school he clerked for the Idaho District Court in 2001. He then joined Thomson-Reuters as a lawyer in 2002, moving into roles that bridged legal practice and legal publishing. Over the next decade he shifted repeatedly between teaching and practice. In 2007 he took on academic leadership as Paralegal Program Chair and Instructor at Globe University/Broadview University. That same year he also served on the faculty at the University of Minnesota Law School. He followed those appointments with faculty roles at Kaplan University in 2008 and as an online instructor at Brigham Young University–Idaho in 2010. He returned to higher education in 2018 as a faculty member for Purdue University Global.

His resume blends classroom work with hands-on legal roles. The paralegal program post signals an early focus on training and curriculum development. Work at a major legal information company exposed him to publishing and the support systems lawyers use. Across colleges and universities he taught courses, developed materials, and supervised students in online and campus settings.

Craig is admitted to practice in Minnesota, California and Utah. He holds a Certificate of Compliance from ControlScan and is a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Those affiliations reflect an interest in professional networks and in standards for commerce and data handling.

In 2019 he opened his own practice, operating as the Law Office of Brian Craig, PLLC. He runs that office while continuing occasional academic engagements. He maintains a practice that provides legal services and legal education support through his firm.

He is based at the Law Office of Brian Craig, PLLC, where he provides legal services and continues work tied to legal education and compliance.
