About Brian
Brian Corrigan built a career that moves from the prosecutor’s table to a solo practice. He earned his law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law in 1996 after completing a bachelor’s degree in business administration and political science at Alma College in 1992. Those years set the stage for work in criminal law and public service.
He began his prosecutorial career in Dallas County, where he rose to the role of Felony Chief Prosecutor in 2000. In that capacity he oversaw serious criminal cases and worked on trials that required coordinated teams of investigators and attorneys. The role put him in court frequently and involved handling complex felony matters across the county.
In 2007 he moved to Kaufman County and served as First Assistant District Lawyer. That role expanded his supervisory duties. He managed staff, guided case strategy, and helped shape office policies. The position combined courtroom work with administrative responsibilities and extended his exposure to how county offices handle criminal caseloads.
In 2010 Corrigan left government service to open the Law Office of Brian Corrigan. He lists his title there as Lawyer and Counselor at Law. As a solo practitioner he shifted from an institutional setting to running a private practice. That required balancing client work, courtroom advocacy, and the day-to-day operations of a small firm.
Corrigan is board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That credential marks a formal recognition in the field of criminal law. He is also a member of several local bar associations, including the Dallas Bar Association, the Rockwall Bar Association, and the Kaufman Bar Association. Those memberships reflect continued ties to the legal communities where he has worked.
His career follows a clear through line: courtroom experience at the county level, supervisory roles in a district attorney’s office, and then private practice. He has spent much of his professional life involved in criminal law, both prosecuting and defending cases. He practices under the name Law Office of Brian Corrigan. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and representation in state courts.
