About Brian C.

Brian C. Brook earned his J.D. from Duke University in 2002 and began a steady trajectory in courts and firms. He entered practice soon after and built early experience at one of New York’s large firms before moving into private practice in the mid-2000s.

By 2005 he was listed as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. His time there exposed him to complex matters handled at national scale. Those years provided training in high-stakes representation and the routines of major firm practice, experiences that shaped his later work.

Brook is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New Jersey and New York. He also holds admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the D.C. Circuit. That mix of state and federal credentials has allowed him to appear in a variety of tribunals and to follow matters across jurisdictional lines.

After his stint at Sullivan & Cromwell, Brook’s career moved into a smaller firm setting. He is currently associated with Clinton Brook & Peed. There he has continued to practice across the jurisdictions where he is admitted and to take on matters that involve both trial-level and appellate proceedings.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and practical. He tends to break complex questions into concrete issues. That style fits work that requires careful analysis of statutes, regulations and court precedent. It also fits work that involves briefing and argument before appellate panels.

Across his career Brook has combined litigation experience with the procedural knowledge that comes from practice in multiple courts. He has handled matters that required coordination between state courts and federal appellate tribunals. He has also worked on cases that demanded attention to appellate timing and preservation of issues for review.

Outside of court appearances, his background includes law firm practice and the systems that support litigation at larger firms. Those years informed his later choices about case management and client communication. He continues to draw on that foundation in his present practice.

He currently practices at Clinton Brook & Peed, handling federal and state matters in the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
