About Brett Colin

Brett Colin Hobbs earned his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2010. He came to law school after an earlier course of study and training that set him on a professional path. During his time at St. Mary’s he built a foundation in legal research, writing and courtroom procedure that would shape his early years in practice.

After law school Hobbs established his practice in Texas. He is licensed to practice in the state and has maintained active membership in professional legal associations. Over time he has handled a broad mix of matters for individuals and businesses, developing practical experience in the everyday work of a practicing attorney. He has worked in both contested and transactional settings and has spent considerable time in courtrooms and negotiation rooms alike.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and clear in communication. He tends to break complex problems down into discrete steps and to present options plainly to clients. That approach is reflected in the way he prepares filings and argues routine motions. He is comfortable in written advocacy and oral hearings, and he places emphasis on responsiveness to client questions.

Within professional circles Hobbs keeps an active membership status in legal organizations that provide networking and continuing legal education. That participation has kept him engaged with developments in Texas law and with peers across practice areas. He has attended programs and seminars that address changes in statutory and case law, and he applies what he learns to client matters.

Hobbs practices at Gireud | Hobbs, PLLC. The firm carries his name and serves a client base in Texas.
