About Bret

Bret Royle built a career that moves from the drawing board to the courtroom. He began his higher education studying architecture and urban planning at the University of Utah, earning a B.A. in 2005. A few years later he changed course and entered law school at the University of Miami, where he received his J.D. in 2010.

After law school he returned to Arizona and took an early post as a legal intern in the Maricopa County Lawyer’s Office in 2009. That year in county work exposed him to courtroom procedure and the logistics of local practice. He joined private practice as an associate in 2010 and was working for himself a year later. In 2011 he formed The Law Office of Bret A. Royle, PLLC and served as a partner there. Four years on he shifted again, taking a partnership at Feldman & Royle, Lawyers at Law, PLLC in 2015.

Royle’s professional affiliations track a clear interest in courtroom advocacy. He has been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2013 and also belongs to the National Trial Lawyers Association, which he joined the same year. He is listed in the National League of Renowned Lawyers starting in 2016. Since 2010 he has been active in the Arizona State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division. Those memberships suggest steady engagement with trial practice and criminal-defense networks.

Colleagues describe him as the sort of lawyer who learns by doing. Early internships and a quick rise to partnership gave him repeated opportunities to handle hearings and client work across different settings. He has local experience in Maricopa County systems and has worked both as a solo practitioner and as part of a firm partnership. That mix of roles has shaped how he manages cases and clients today.

He is based in Arizona and continues to practice law there. His resume shows a trajectory from legal intern to associate to partner in private firms over the course of a decade and a half. In 2026 he remains a partner at Feldman & Royle, Lawyers at Law, PLLC, where his practice involves criminal defense and trial work.
