About Bret R.

Bret R. Goldstein took a conventional path into the law, but he has built a career in a specialized corner of it. He earned a B.A. from Lafayette College in 1989 and completed his J.D. at Rutgers University–Camden in 1992. Those school years set the stage for steady work in courts and administrative forums across two states.

After law school he entered practice and established himself in matters related to employee benefits and employer liability. He is licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New York. Over time he joined Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP and rose to the role of partner. That position places him among the senior lawyers at a firm that handles a range of insurance defense and workers’ compensation matters.

Workers’ compensation is a central part of his professional life. He holds the Pennsylvania Bar Association certification as a Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law through the association’s workers’ compensation section. That credential reflects an additional level of study and peer review specific to that area of practice. Colleagues and clients know him for steady handling of claims and for attention to procedural detail.

His memberships underline where his practice interests lie. He maintains active membership in the Pennsylvania Bar Association and in its Workers Compensation Section. He also participates in local professional groups, including the Greater Philadelphia Executive Claims Council. Outside of strictly legal circles he chairs a charitable workplace program for the National Kidney Foundation and serves on the board of a local youth football organization, the Conestoga Generals Football Association. Those roles speak to a pattern of civic involvement that runs alongside his legal work.

Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic. He manages the day-to-day demands of claim files, tracks statutory and regulatory changes, and consults on how those developments affect insurers and employers. He also collaborates with other counsel inside the firm on matters that cross into general liability or occupational disease questions.

Today he remains a partner at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP. He continues to handle workers’ compensation matters and related insurance defense issues in Pennsylvania and New York, balancing litigation and advisory tasks for institutional clients.
