About Bret
Bret Lee earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 2006 and completed his law degree at George Mason University School of Law in 2011. Those years framed his entry into the practice of law and provided a foundation in both statutory analysis and courtroom procedure. He finished law school as the legal landscape around him was shifting, and he moved into practice equipped to handle questions of state and local law.
He is admitted to practice in Virginia and in the District of Columbia. Those dual admissions shape much of his work. They allow him to represent clients in matters that cross jurisdictional lines and to advise on issues where local rules and state law intersect. By handling matters in both jurisdictions he has developed a practical understanding of procedural differences and regulatory contexts.
In 2023 he joined Robinson Law, PLLC as Of Counsel. The role has him advising on matters that require attention to both legal detail and client priorities. His work often involves counseling clients on litigation strategy, regulatory compliance, and case preparation. He draws on his academic training and courtroom experience to help map out realistic paths forward for the people and organizations he represents.
Colleagues describe him as straightforward in analysis and direct in courtroom presentation. He approaches hearings and filings with an eye for clarity. He also places emphasis on keeping clients informed about next steps and likely outcomes. That approach reflects a practice style that favors clear explanation over legal jargon.
Today he practices from Robinson Law, PLLC, where his work continues to cross the boundaries between Virginia and the District of Columbia. He balances courtroom appearances with client counseling and legal drafting. His current practice centers on legal matters in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
