About Brent T.
Brent T. Ackerson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisville in 1997. He stayed in Louisville for law school and received his J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2000. Those years in Louisville shaped his understanding of the local courts and community.
After law school he moved into private practice. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. Over time he has developed experience handling matters brought in both state and federal forums.
Ackerson has practiced as a lawyer at Ackerson Law Offices. His work involves preparing cases for court and representing clients before judges and juries. He has managed litigation files from initial pleadings through trials and post-trial motions. In courtroom settings he focuses on presenting factual narratives clearly and supporting them with appropriate legal argument.
He maintains membership in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Kentucky Justice Association/Kentucky Academy of Trial Lawyers. Those memberships keep him connected to colleagues across the state and informed about developments in Kentucky law.
Colleagues describe his approach as straightforward. He emphasizes clear communication with clients and steady case preparation. He also places importance on understanding the practical consequences of legal choices, so clients know what to expect at each stage of a matter.
Today he continues to practice from Ackerson Law Offices. He represents clients in litigation matters in Kentucky state and federal courts and focuses his practice on handling disputes brought before those tribunals.
