About Brent R

Brent R Olson built his legal foundation in the Upper Midwest. He earned a B.A. in criminology from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2006 after beginning undergraduate study in 2002. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2009.

Early in his career Olson joined the Minnesota bar community. He has been a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association since 2009. Over time he expanded his practice across state lines and maintains professional standing in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and meticulous in preparation.

Olson’s professional memberships reflect the subjects he handles. He has belonged to the National Trial Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2018. He also holds a current membership in the State Bar of Wisconsin. For several years he listed membership in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, now inactive, an association that signals an interest in the technical aspects of evidence and expert testimony.

His work has centered on trial practice and defense matters. He has represented clients in contested proceedings and has taken cases to jury trial when necessary. Olson prepares witnesses, examines forensic reports, and briefs motions. He favors clear, direct courtroom presentation. He also spends time on legal research and drafting, tasks that often determine case outcomes before a jury ever sees evidence.

Outside the courtroom Olson has contributed to professional circles through association participation. He attends national gatherings and regional meetings that examine trial technique and criminal defense trends. Those activities keep him current on changing rules and evolving forensic methods.

Olson practices from an office at LaCourse, Poole & Envall, P.A. There he handles matters that arise in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. He remains an active member of several professional organizations and continues to handle trial and defense work in his current practice focus.
