About Brent D.

Brent D. Fassett graduated from the University of Michigan in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in history and continued at the University of Michigan Law School, earning his J.D. in 1994. His academic background combined liberal arts and legal training. The early study of historical contexts and legal doctrine shaped the way he approaches complex problems.

After law school, Fassett entered private practice and advanced to a partnership at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. His career has been anchored at that firm, where he holds a partner title and works out of the firm’s Colorado presence. Over the years he has taken on responsibilities typical of senior firm lawyers, including client counseling, matter supervision and team management. He has also participated in firm-level activities that support client service and practice operations.

Colleagues and clients who have worked with him expect careful analysis and practical solutions rather than rhetoric. His training in history contributes to a habit of tracing facts back to their origins and placing legal questions in a broader context. Those habits show in written work and in courtroom or negotiation settings alike. He is comfortable explaining complex subjects to clients who need clear, actionable advice.

Fassett’s professional path reflects steady progression through the ranks of a large law firm. At Cooley Godward Kronish LLP he has managed relationships across client sectors, working with teams that bring together specialists from different disciplines. That experience has required him to coordinate strategy, supervise associates and ensure consistency in legal work product. He has been involved in matters that demand careful project management as well as legal judgment.

Outside of casework, he remains connected to the legal community in Colorado. He maintains professional ties that help him keep current with developments in state and national practice. His dual Michigan degrees and long tenure at a national firm contribute to a perspective that blends national firm resources with attention to local client needs.

Today, Fassett serves as a partner at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP and practices law in Colorado, where his work is centered in the firm’s Colorado office and involves overseeing client matters and team-led legal projects.
