About Brendan Patrick
Brendan Patrick Tracy began his legal path at Brooklyn Law School, where he entered in 2007 and earned his J.D. in 2010. He completed law school as the financial and procedural basics of litigation were taking shape around him. The classroom gave him doctrine; the courts gave him routine and urgency.
Fresh out of law school, Tracy joined the New York County District Attorney's Office as an assistant district attorney in 2010. He handled the day-to-day work of a city prosecutor: charging decisions, courtroom appearances, and managing caseloads that ranged from low-level offenses to more serious matters. The job required long hours and quick judgment. He learned how to craft a case file and present evidence to judges and juries.
In 2019 he moved to Richmond County, where he served as Deputy Bureau Chief of the Domestic Violence Bureau in the Richmond County District Attorney's Office. That post put him in a supervisory seat. He oversaw other prosecutors, reviewed case strategy, and handled sensitive matters that often involved victims and complex factual patterns. The position demanded both managerial skill and an ability to handle emotionally fraught courtroom scenes.
Tracy is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. Records indicate admission in New York in 2010 and in New Jersey in 2011. He is a member of the Richmond County Bar Association and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, among other professional groups. Those memberships place him in regular contact with colleagues across the region and reflect a career that spans both prosecution and private practice.
After years in public service, he established the Law Office of Brendan Tracy PLLC. His move to a private practice setting let him apply courtroom experience to individual client matters. He manages cases from intake through disposition. He appears in state courts and handles pretrial work, plea negotiations, and trials when necessary.
Colleagues and court calendars show a lawyer whose daily work is a mix of courtroom appearances and case preparation. He is known for practical handling of evidence, for courtroom readiness, and for managing personnel matters when supervising prosecutors. He has worked on domestic violence prosecutions and on a broader array of criminal cases during his time in district attorneys' offices.
He currently practices from the Law Office of Brendan Tracy PLLC, where his caseload centers on criminal defense and domestic violence matters.
