About Brendan Henry
Brendan Henry Frey earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan in 2002. Those academic years framed his entry into the legal profession and set a foundation for his practice in Michigan. His educational path combines a public research university undergraduate experience with a Detroit-based law school that feeds many lawyers into the state’s courts.
After law school, Frey began work in Michigan’s legal community. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Admission to both state and federal bars means he can appear in a broad range of matters that require representation in state courts and in federal trial court.
Over the course of his career he has worked on matters that come before Michigan tribunals and federal forums. That practical exposure requires attention to procedural detail and an ability to frame issues for judges in different settings. Colleagues describe his courtroom and transactional work as straightforward and task-oriented, focused on getting matters resolved efficiently and in line with applicable rules.
Frey’s role at Credit Acceptance places him inside the legal operations of a major company. There he handles legal tasks that arise for the business and supports the organization’s compliance with state and federal law. Working in an in-house environment calls for balancing legal risk against business needs and communicating clearly with nonlegal teams inside the company.
Outside the courtroom and the office he maintains ties to the Michigan legal community through professional contacts developed since his admission. He shares background with attorneys who graduated from Michigan and Wayne State and often collaborates on matters that span jurisdictions across the state.
His path from Ann Arbor to Wayne State and into practice in Michigan illustrates a steady professional arc. He remains based in Michigan, admitted to practice in state courts and in the Eastern District of Michigan, and currently practices at Credit Acceptance, handling the company’s legal matters.
