About Brendan G.

Brendan G. Carney earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2008 after completing a B.A. in Economics at Boston College in 2002. He moved from a classroom steeped in theory to practical legal training in a period marked by shifting labor and safety regulations. The chronology of his studies and the subjects he chose set a clear path toward workplace and injury law.

He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and is an attorney at Carney, Rezendes & Crowley, LLC. Over the years he has built a practice rooted in contested workplace matters and workers’ compensation claims. His work has placed him in court, at administrative hearings, and in client consultations where technical details of injury, evidence, and state rules matter as much as the law itself.

Carney has been active in professional organizations that intersect with his daily work. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He serves on the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers’ Board of Governors, a role he has held since 2012. Since 2011 he has been listed on the National Football League Players’ Association Workers’ Compensation Lawyer Panel. He also participates in the Massachusetts Workplace Safety Taskforce. Those memberships reflect a sustained engagement with peers, regulators, and advocates concerned with worker safety and compensation.

His practice concentrates on workers’ compensation and workplace safety matters. He represents employees who claim workplace injuries and handles disputes over benefits, medical care, and return-to-work issues. The NFLPA panel listing indicates experience representing professional athletes on workers’ compensation issues and related disputes. He appears before administrative tribunals and at hearings where the factual and medical record often decides outcomes.

Colleagues describe him as composed in hearings and thorough in preparation. Clients rely on his attention to evidence and procedural rules. Outside of casework, his association work involves policy discussions and professional education tied to trial practices and workplace safety standards.

He continues to practice at Carney, Rezendes & Crowley, LLC in Massachusetts, representing individuals in workplace injury and workers’ compensation matters and participating in state and national professional groups that address trial practice and safety policy.
