About Brenda

Brenda Okasi earned her law degree at CUNY School of Law in Flushing. She completed the academic training that prepared her for practice in New York and moved into the profession at a time when the city’s legal landscape was changing. Her legal education grounded her in clinical work and practical skills, and she has continued to rely on that practical grounding throughout her career.

She is admitted to practice in New York. Early in her career she became involved in professional association work and has maintained continuous membership since 2001. That long-standing involvement in professional circles has kept her connected to peers and to developments in the courts and regulatory agencies across the state. Over the years she has taken part in panels, meetings and ongoing professional education that accompany such memberships.

Okasi’s work has been conducted from offices in two distinct parts of the state. She maintains an office in New York City and another in Newburgh in the Hudson Valley. That geographical arrangement has shaped how she meets clients and handles matters. It has allowed her to address issues that arise in both an urban setting and a more suburban or regional context. Colleagues describe her practice as responsive to the differing rhythms of clients in the metropolitan area and those farther upstate.

Her approach to cases is practical and grounded in day-to-day legal work. She places emphasis on clear communication and on preparing files that are ready for court or negotiation. She works directly with clients, counsel and court personnel to move matters forward. Today she continues to serve clients from her New York City and Newburgh offices and practices law in the State of New York.
