About Brandon Jay
Brandon Jay Grable completed his legal education at St. Mary’s University School of Law, graduating in 2016. He entered the legal profession in the same year, carrying the vocabulary of appellate practice into the early stages of his career.
His first post after law school was at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, where he served as a briefing lawyer in 2016. The role involved handling appellate briefs and legal research for judges at the state’s highest criminal court. That experience exposed him to the rhythms of appellate litigation and the precise demands of legal writing.
A year later he launched his own practice. In 2017 he became owner of Grable Law Office PLLC. Running a solo practice required him to combine client work with firm administration. He managed intake, prepared filings, and worked directly with clients on matters that required careful legal analysis.
In 2019 he moved into partnership. He joined Grable Grimshaw PLLC as a partner, a role that expanded his responsibilities. Partnership duties added case strategy, collaboration with colleagues, and a broader docket. The change reflected a transition from solo practice to a firm environment where cases and resources are shared.
Throughout his career he has remained connected to Texas courts and procedures. He is licensed to practice in Texas and continues to work within the state’s legal system. Colleagues and clients see him as someone who came up through the appellate ranks and then applied that experience in private practice.
Grable’s background combines courtroom experience at a state-level appellate court with the practical challenges of running and partnering in small law firms. That mix shaped how he approaches casework: attention to legal detail, direct client contact, and an interest in appellate procedure. He brings those habits into everyday practice.
He practices at Grable Grimshaw PLLC, where his work centers on appellate work and litigation for clients in Texas.
