About Braden
Braden Perry grew up academically focused and left Kansas State University in 1999 with a B.S. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2002. Those early years established the practical and regulatory grounding that would shape his career.
After law school he entered private practice at Blackwell Sanders in 2002. Before that placement he had a stint in a Judicial Clerkship Clinic at the United States District Court in 2001 and lectured at Emporia State University the same year. Those roles gave him courtroom exposure and time teaching law students, a combination he has revisited throughout his career.
In 2008 he joined the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a senior trial lawyer. There he handled enforcement matters and developed deeper expertise in financial regulation. Two years later he moved into the private sector as Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs and Compliance and chief compliance officer at Mariner Holdings, LLC. The Mariner role broadened his experience in corporate compliance and regulatory strategy.
Perry co-founded Kennyhertz Perry in 2011 and has been a partner there since. His practice reflects the path he followed: regulatory and compliance work, enforcement defense, and securities matters. He is licensed to practice in both Kansas and Missouri, and he maintains professional certifications that speak to his regulatory focus. Those include CAMS, the Digital Currency Certification, and multiple securities licenses—Series 24, Series 7 and Series 66.
Outside the office he holds several civic and professional roles. He has been a member of the Kansas City Securities Association board since 2013. He joined the City of Mission Hills council in 2015 and continues to serve. He is a member of the State Bar of Kansas and participated in Leadership Kansas as part of the Class of 2016. These positions have kept him engaged with municipal and regional issues as well as the securities bar.
Perry’s background spans government enforcement, corporate compliance, and private practice. He draws on trial experience at the CFTC and compliance leadership in the financial sector when advising clients. He lives and works in the Kansas City area and practices at Kennyhertz Perry. His current practice centers on securities regulation, compliance counseling, and enforcement defense.
