About Brad

Brad Wyly earned his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 2002, where he served on Law Review. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1995, majoring in political science. Those formative academic years set a foundation for courtroom work and an interest in the mechanics of trial practice.

He entered private practice shortly after law school. In 2003 he worked at Hicks Thomas & Lilienstern, then moved to Komie and Melendez Law Office in 2006. A year later he became a partner at Wyly & Cook, PLLC. That progression shows steady movement into roles with increasing responsibility and firm leadership.

Wyly is licensed to practice in Texas, New York and Colorado. He combines bar admissions across multiple states with hands-on litigation experience accumulated over two decades. He has been a long-time member of trial lawyer organizations, maintaining memberships in both the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Beyond his firm duties, Wyly has been active in legal education and professional organizations. Since 2019 he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center. He joined the board of directors of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association the same year and sits on the Houston Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee. Colleagues elected him a Master of the Garland R. Walker American Inn of Court in 2014, a post he continues to hold. He has also co-chaired an underwriting committee for an Oscar Night in America fundraising event that benefits the Houston Ronald McDonald House, and he remains involved with his law school’s reunion committee.

His community and volunteer work includes a period serving at the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Saturday Legal Advice Clinics in 2014 and 2015. Earlier in his career he was part of the Houston Bar Association’s Speaker’s Bureau in 2008 and 2009. Those activities reflect an interest in public-facing legal work and in mentoring younger lawyers through organized programs.

At Wyly & Cook, PLLC he practices in a firm he helped shape. He brings courtroom experience, bar leadership roles and law school teaching into his work for clients. His current practice centers on trial work and litigation.
