About Brad
Brad Bailey earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1983 after completing a B.A. at Harvard University in 1980. He arrived in practice with a traditional legal education and a background in rigorous academic study. That foundation informed an early career built around public service and courtroom work.
He worked in several Massachusetts offices early on. He served as an assistant district attorney in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office and later held a role in the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He also prosecuted cases in New York, working as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan. Those positions exposed him to both trial work and the demands of office-based prosecution.
Bailey moved into federal practice as an Assistant United States Attorney. In that capacity he handled indictments, motions, and courtroom hearings. The federal role widened the scope of his litigation experience and required familiarity with federal statutes, procedure, and sentencing practice. His career includes stints across state and federal systems, and it shows a steady accumulation of courtroom time and case responsibility.
He is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts and before the First Circuit. After years in government offices he established Brad Bailey Law, P.C., returning to private practice while keeping litigation at the center of his work. At his firm he has taken on matters that draw on his prior prosecutorial and federal experience. Clients and colleagues see a practitioner comfortable in both state courthouses and federal courthouses, handling pretrial work, hearings and trials.
Bailey’s professional path runs from respected law schools to busy prosecution offices and into private practice. He has spent decades working on contested matters across jurisdictions. He currently concentrates his practice on litigation in state and federal courts.
