About Bobby
Bobby Briggs built a path to law that began in the classrooms and on the baseball field. He studied political science at the University of Central Oklahoma, then earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Phillips University in 1978. He completed his legal education at the University of Oklahoma, receiving his J.D. in 1980.
His professional life has crossed public service, education and private practice. In 1990 he took on the role of president at Bobby Briggs PLLC. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit, and holds admission in both Texas and Oklahoma. Those admissions reflect a practice that has operated in state and federal settings for several decades.
Longstanding ties to his community run alongside his legal work. He served as a certified coach in Tulsa Public Schools from 1974 through 2007 and later taught in the same district from 2001 to 2007. Earlier, he spent years at Chandler Baseball Camp — from 1973 until 1990 — as a counselor, coach and assistant to the director, Tom Belcher. Those roles connect a career in law to hands-on work with young people and local institutions.
In courtrooms and in client meetings, Briggs blends older-school practical instincts with the procedural demands of modern litigation. His admissions to multiple jurisdictions mean he has moved between trial-level matters and appellate filings. He has worked in both state courtrooms in Oklahoma and Texas and in federal adjudicatory settings where the Tenth Circuit and the Supreme Court admit counsel.
Colleagues and former students describe him as steady and deliberate. He has balanced public-facing roles in schools and camps with the responsibilities of running a private practice. Serving as president of his firm since 1990 has required attention to administration as well as to legal work, and his career shows a mix of litigation, court appearances and client advising rather than a single narrow specialty.
After four decades in the profession and a parallel commitment to coaching and teaching, Briggs continues to practice law. He is active in the jurisdictions to which he is admitted and conducts work that spans state and federal matters. He practices at Bobby Briggs PLLC, handling matters in Oklahoma and Texas and in federal courts where he is admitted.
